Ja'Dell Davis
Ja’Dell Davis is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Sociology. Her research interests include race-ethnicity, community-based educational spaces, sociology of education, and the transition from high school to college. Her dissertation project is concerned with the experiences of racially minoritized youth as they transition from high school to (historically and predominantly White) college and how these youth are prepared to navigate racialized college and societal experiences. As an extension of her research, Ja’Dell engages in training/facilitating, evaluation, and community-based research, with particular focus on implementing race equity initiatives. These projects include work with the Wisconsin Department of Education and community-based youth organizations in the greater New York region.
